Hello!
We raised a GRAND TOTAL of $6,356.36 at Saturday's Garage/Yard/Parking lot sale at Benton Elementary to benefit Kyle Hicks' bone marrow transplant!
WOO HOO!!!!!
It was 96 degrees, BOB-FM showed up, and we made a heck of a lot of money! Our original goal was to make $2,000 for the day. We stayed around until the bitter end, while people hauled stuff to Goodwill, and to a church youth group's garage sale (who will donate part of their proceeds back to Kyle). And, while we were loading up the FINAL load, at close to 5 pm, a black pick-up pulled in. The man asked if we were the ones doing the fundraiser for "the kid who needs the bone marrow transplant". We indicated that yes, we were there for Kyle's fundraiser. He handed me some bills, I thanked him, without counting the money in his presence, and he drove off. He had just given me FIVE one-hundred dollar bills!!! What a way to end the day! And we didn't even get his name.
I would say it was a WONDERFUL day, and a job well done by many!
We are sunburned, tired, but extremely happy!
Thank you, Kara, for coming out in the heat of the day to help us out! Thank you, Jeremy, for getting this set up for us! We appreciate BOB-FM's help! [Attached is]a pic we snapped of Kyle and the BOB-Mobile!
